Him to raise their biracial daughter Lynn alone Overwhelmed by the difficulties of single fatherhood and seeking comfort and help for himself in that stressful journey Nick dates numerous women who will change his life forever Will rai An Emotional Rollercoaster That I Enjoyed I enjoyed the realness that the author let fall out from his characters thoughts I felt that the main character NickFool's reaction to becoming a father were accurate and honest Parenthood is scary to be put plainly and I found myself identifying very uickly with his fear and feeling for him as he struggled throughout the book to become the father that his daughter Lynn deserved The way his life unraveled was entertaining and the books plot was filled with twists and turns that I did not see coming The author has a talent that most do not being able to tell a story that gave you just enough details to let your imagination run wild I enjoyed the ups and downs that the author painted for Nick as he matured into a man including the long list of ill chosen women that he included in he and his daughters lives as well as the not so well thought out decisions that he made The female characters that were brought into into the story were almost needed and even though I personally despised the women he dated including Jasmine and especially Hazel they came with somewhat of morale lesson to their existence I appreciated the fact that the author didn't dog these women out he only stated the facts spoke on real life scenarios that either men fall victim to I enjoyed the fact that the author brought multitude of different races into the story and represented each of them properly and well never really going to the stereotypes that so many other author fail miserably at clinging to in their novels With each chapter that I read I felt like I was witnessing Nick's struggle first hand and by the time I finished this book I felt like his brother Scout and Chance were my own brothers I felt like Lynn and I had grown up together and each trouble that came their way was one I endured with them This book was truly a work of art and it is a must read especially if your looking for something different than an average 'street lit urban read' Don't get me wrong there were drug dealers there was baby momma drama hood rats Hazel and plenty of skirts being chased included in this novel but at the end felt that I learned something there was a morale to this story and I was able to live at least a few chapters in everyone's shoes which was enjoyable and gave me an extremely deeper connection with all of the characters I cried I laughed and I was completely thrilled at the way that this book ended Especially appreciated the fact that I got to grow up with Lynn and actually take a peek at how her life turned out and why she became who she became Such a beautiful story and definitely different from what you could possibly expect I didn't intend to cry but ended up balling at the end as everything ended beautifully very well written Ben Burgess did an immaculate job with this one This book hit me hard because I have to admit I myself am a Daddy's Girl it was as if I was reading a book filled with the truths that my father would never share with me but we're struggles I know he faced Great job

Daddys GirlImageNick Johnson has always been an underachieving borderline alcoholic He soon finds himself in over his head when his affair with Vickie an unhappily married homemaker results in an accidental pregnancy Vickie abandons Nick leaving The synopsis definitely piued my attention but I honestly wasn't prepared for what was written This book hit on so many issues and emotions This doesn't happen too often but I'm at a loss of words and am unable to write this review in a manner that will give this book the justice it deservesDaddy's Girl delves so much deeper than the daddy daughter relationship The content the pace the character development the flaws the conflict the pace the growth; all were perfect This is by far Ben's best work to date
